Setting up the audio path

To define the default audio configuration on a Mitel 6930 or 6940 phone, you need to set up the audio path for either the headset or the speaker.

When you answer a call with the “Answer/End” button on the headset, audio will automatically be sent to the headset for the call. However, if you use a hold/retrieve or conference-call feature during the call, the audio path will transition to the default audio path. This means that the audio path will transition to the speaker after a hold/retrieve if the default audio path has been set to Speaker.

If you prefer using the headset, you can maintain the headset audio path through all holds and conference calls by setting the audio path default to Headset. Alternatively you can maintain the speaker path through these functions by setting the audio path to Speaker.

To set up the audio path:

  1. Press the Settings key.
  2. Press Audio.
  3. Press Audio Path.
  4. Press Headset or Speaker.
  5. Press Save.

The Speaker/Handset key LED flashes slowly when you've selected Headset, or becomes solid red for Speaker selection.
